Christian persecution is common throughout the world; this list represents only a tiny minority.

Constellations of the Zodiac

The gospel is told in the stars in the constellations of the zodiac. These constellations are ancient in origin but many of the original names are Hebrew..

Light pollution has obscured the stars and the constellations of the zodiac from view of most Americans. The constellations of the zodiac are known for their astrological significance, but few know the origins of many of their names. Particularly important is that many stars have Biblical names or significance, and tell the gospel story. Truly, the gospel is told in the stars – but it does now take some special training to hear the story. Unfortunately, many of the star’s original Hebrew names have been replaced by Arabic names which do not carry the same meaning. Jeff was to have… Read More »

The Jewish Feasts

The Jewish feast days represent important holy days for both Jews and Christians alike; some are "appointments" for future events.

Posted on February 5, 2020 by

The Jewish feasts are largely unknown to most Christians.  Most have heard about Passover only because it intersects with Easter.  Few Christians have even heard of the other six major Jewish feasts or festivals on the Jewish calendar All seven of the major Jewish festivals hold significance for Christians, however.  We will go through the first four of these feasts which have had their fulfillment in the First Coming of Christ – especially the Passover. The Spring Jewish Feasts “But you don’t really believe any of that stuff, do you, Jeff? I mean really, angels? I haven’t even thought of… Read More »

The Jewish Passover

A one year old male lamb was sacrificed for every family during Passover as an image of the coming Messiah who would become the Lamb of God.

The Jewish Passover is one of the holiest days of the year. It celebrates the time when Moses confronted the Pharaoh in Egypt to “let the people go.” The problem was that Egypt did not want to let its slave population go – they depended upon the Jewish population’s slave labor. This brought about a classic confrontation between Moses and the Pharaoh resulting in multiple plagues or calamities against Egypt. The plagues were not just random occurrences either; each one was directed against a specific Egyptian god to show the one Hebrew God to be superior to the multiple Egyptian… Read More »

Pentecost

Pentecost is the Christian name for the Jewish Feast of Weeks

Things were bad in Europe the night before. Multiple countries were going broke and their current was in a steep slide.  Just as individuals can only borrow so much money before they reach their credit limit, several countries were finding they were not impervious to the same economic laws.  They were simply running out of money and threatening to default on their bonds. One way countries raise money is to issue bonds; other countries and investors then buy these bonds, loaning money to the country which then pays the lenders an interest.  Many states, municipalities, and big companies all do… Read More »

Unleavened Bread

Jewish Menorah symbolizes the seven major Jewish Feasts or Festivals.

Posted on February 5, 2020 by

The Feast of Unleavened Bread is one that most Christians have never heard.  It is after Passover on the Jewish calendar and is considered a Holy Day, feast, or festival just like Passover.  Jeff was going to learn more about this day from the angel – because he too had never heard of this day. It is a shame how Jewish holidays have become divorced from Christianity.  Even the holiest days such as Yom Kippur are not even recognized by most Christians.  And yet it was one of those days that God’s chosen people were commanded to remember in perpetuity…. First Fruits

The first fruits of the barley harvest was another feast which was celebrated just after Passover.

Posted on February 5, 2020 by

The Jewish holy day of First Fruits is the third of the trio of festivals around the Passover.  The Jewish calendar is set so that Nissan 14 always occurs on a full moon, and Passover always is celebrated on Nissan 14; that means there is always a full  moon on Passover. Something unusual happened with the Passover full moon on the day Christ was crucified that is very unusual; it rose in full blood red lunar eclipse.  The symbolism could hardly be more striking.  Jeff would learn about these things and many other facts as he continues on with his… Read More »

The Number Seven in Scripture

The number Seven is prominent in Scripture - and especially in Matthew.

Posted on January 23, 2020 by

The number seven in Scripture is important – it is repeated throughout the entire Bible.  The first book of the New Testament Matthew makes special use of this number.  The complex way this number is used makes it nearly impossible to duplicate as we shall see. The Number Seven in Scripture “I had another dream!” Jeffrey was nearly screaming at me over the phone.  After our initial discussion in my office, he flew back to Philadelphia – first class of course.  A few days went by and I had nearly forgotten Jeff and his dreams, relegating it to one of… Read More »

The Torah

Posted on January 5, 2020 by

The Torah is the first five books of the Old Testament and represents the Jewish Law given to Moses many years ago.  The Ten Commandments are contained within the Torah, along with ceremonial laws, legal laws, dietary laws, among other components.  The Torah is much better known by most Jewish believers than most Christian who spend most of their time in the New Testament. Because of this, many Christians are not familiar with the Torah, the hidden meanings contained within it, and new layers of content that have recently been uncovered. Christians also have a schizophrenic attitude toward the Torah;… Read More »
