In one of the more interesting passages in Scripture, there are two disciples of early Christianity walking on the road to Emmaus shortly after the crucifixion of Christ. They were discussing the amazing events of the past few days including the trial and execution of their leader. Most Christians are not familiar with the ancient Jewish legal and so are unfamiliar with a bulla and how the bulla affirm the Bible. Many Scripture characters were important people in their time and produced bulla during their lifetimes. Today, we have legal contracts where a signature is confirmed by a notary public or other means. This was not possible in ancient Israel. Another bulla has been found – this one is a bulla of Azariah from Old Testament. Azariah was the son of the High Priest Hilkiah who has an important role in ancient Israel. Israel, as per its usual history, had once again fallen from following God and judgment would soon be pronounced upon it. Josiah was the King at the time and was apparently unaware of what he was supposed to be doing. The discovery of King David’s palace continues a string of recent archaeological discoveries confirming the Biblical narrative. The existence of a historical King David has been doubted for decades by liberal scholars. They argued at best David was a regional warlord with little in the way of regional stature. Archaeologists discovered the vast wealth of Biblical King Solomon partially derived from his copper mines.  He is recognized as having been one of the richest people to have ever lived.  Other countries paid Solomon about 25 tons of gold for each of the 39 years of his reign.  This money went into building projects throughout the realm but especially in Jerusalem. Archaeologists discovered evidence for an aide to Biblical King Josiah in recent explorations in Israel. Archaeology has come a long way over the past few decades since proving the existence of Biblical King David in 1993. It seems every year there are new findings of ancient artifacts proving the existence of Biblical characters thought until now to be largely fictional.
